Custom Built Single Coil Pickups 

All my boutique hand / scatterwound pickups are completely built by me one at a time .My 1954 Pre CBS is the only model and the holy grail of the strat era. Alnico 3 magnets and .195 diameter in size. The rest of my pickups use  Alnico V .187 diameter magnets. I build Pre CBS black bobbin 55-63 with Vintage 42 gauge Formvar wire . Also build Early CBS Grey bottom 64-70 Vintage 42 gauge Plain enamel wire nicknamed " The Jimi Years " . These pickups all spec below 6.k and 3.00Henries . My Pre CBS 1963 are the only pickups over 6k as this was the highest output Fender made in the Pre CBS pickups ....Step by Step Photos on the Next page .Final testing done on a LCR DE-5000 ...

Tested @ 77 degrees and 42% humidity,  +/- 5% on a DER  EE  LCR  DE-5000 meter. Step one , I put together the Flatware and magnets on a Arbor press  2) lacquer dip the Flatware with magnets installed . 3) Hand wind the pickups 4) Wax dip with 80% Paraffin and 20% Bees wax. 5) Solder pickup lead wires with Vintage push back cloth wire.6) Fully charge the magnets . 7) install to pickguard .White or Black are my stock colors but all knobs and pickup covers are Vintage White . You can check for different pickguard colors . 8) I use CTS or Fender pots . The Volume knob is a push / pull knob and when in postion 5 with the knob pulled it adds the bridge pickup . In postion 4 and the knob pulled , all 3 pickups work in parallel..This gives you 2 extra options to add to the normal 5 way selection switch , also can have a blend knob on tone 2 which adds the bridge  or you can have a stock normal 5 way setup , I can wire the 5 way to your liking .

My Early CBS also features USA Remington 42awg Vintage Plain enamel wire. 4) Early Grey bottom 65-69 or 5) 69's Grey bottom plain enamel wire.6) 1982 AVRI's white tops /Red bottoms one of my biggest sellers. Plain enamel wire and you can have a choice of Flat or beveled magnets.7) 1998 AVRI's Fender changed to Vintage Formvar wire. All pickups and loaded pickguards come with Vintage aged White accessory kit. Pickup covers and knobs, 5 way blade tip, Tremolo arm tip and tremolo cover and new guitar jack..Your choice of pickguards , BLACK and White are stock but I have Mint Green, Red Tortoise, vintage Brown Tortoise, IVORY 8 hole only ,  White Pearl and ivory Pearl.
